Ant McPartlin fans inundate TV presenter with support as he makes cheerful return to Twitter after confirming I’m A Celebrity return

Ant McPartlin received a flood of support from fans after he made his return to Twitter.

The TV star has kept a low profile on social media following his arrest for drink-driving in March last year.

McPartlin, who shares the account with presenting partner Declan Donnelly, broke his silence on the account by throwing his support behind Line of Duty actor Daniel Mays’ role in new film Fisherman’s Friends.

He tweeted the actor: “Best of luck with the movie Kidda! Can’t wait to see it. A.”

But it was McPartlin’s signature initial that caught that attention of his followers, with many rushing to send their best wishes, admitting they have “missed” him.

One user wrote: “Hello Ant Hope you are ok and I can’t wait for you to be back on T,V you have been missed so it will be good to see you back where you belong bye Dec side all your fans love you both.”

“Hope you are well!! Great to see you tweeting,” another added.

A third commented: “Looking forward to having you back on TV! Missed you like mad Ant!”

The tweet comes after reports surfaced confirming that the star is set to return to hosting I'm a Celebrity hosting alongside Donnelly, who was joined by Holly Willoughby for the last series.

Show boss Richard Cowles told the Radio Times that the team are "very much looking forward to Ant coming back".

ITV confirm Ant McPartlin is coming back 'when he is well'

"We love what Holly did, but we're very much looking forward to Ant coming back and I think it's going to be an amazing series," he said.

"I think the job is for us to create a series and cast where everyone wants to come back and watch more, so I'm not worried.

"I'm looking forward to seeing Ant and Dec back again."
