Ant McPartlin and ex wife Lisa Armstrong 'heal rift' for the sake of pup Hurley

Ant McPartlin, 44, and Lisa Armstrong, 43, are reportedly on speaking terms again after their bitter divorce, and it's all thanks to their dog.

They share chocolate Labrador, Hurley, and during the fight to divide up their assets, they both fought for custody over the beloved dog.

At last, two years after their split, they have reached an agreement where they can both share him.

They will even meet face to face to drop him off to each other, which is said to be a "huge step forward" for the warring exes.

A source told Heat : "For a long time this just wouldn’t have been possible without an intermediary.

"Some of the rows at the height of the break-up were utterly explosive.

"Now, they’ve decided enough time has passed for them to be able to do it themselves.”

MirrorOnline has reached out to reps for Ant and Lisa for comment.

Lisa and Ant split in 2018 after 11 years of marriage, and Ant is said to have handed over £31 million of his £50 million to Lisa in the settlement.

The pair were together for 23 years; they were married in 2006 and announced their break-up two years ago.

It was claimed their relationship crumbled because of Ant's battle with alcohol, their gruelling work schedules and the couple growing apart from each other.

The ITV favourite is now in a relationship with his 44-year-old former personal assistant, Anne-Marie Corbett.

It was reported Lisa is looking to sell the £6million mansion they once shared in Chiswick, West London, because it holds too many memories.

A source close to Lisa told The Sun : "She and Ant lived in the house for years. It holds a lot of bad memories and now the divorce is being finalised she wants to start again somewhere new.

The last two years have been extremely lonely at times but she's now looking to the future.

"And instead of sitting in a ginormous house all on her own she's looking to enjoy the single life with two of her best friends."
