It was business as usual for the pair who back to work together to record the audio for their new book.

But naturally, the fun-loving pals couldn't resist larking about on the job as they shared their antics on Instagram.

The video began with Dec, 44, peeking out from a behind a black car before Ant joined him.

The duo were then seen in the recording studio - making sure to keep their distance.

Dec told viewers he would let them hear a snippet of their new recording as an audio of him saying 'kangaroo's anus' played.

While Ant could be heard saying: "Waving in front of an elephant in the..."

"That's enough of that!" Dec cried.

The explosive new book is set to chart the highs and lows of their 30 years in showbiz together.

They made reference to their early music career in their latest Instagram post which they captioned: "Watch us wreck the mic... (the audio book remix). Great to be back on the job together again!

"P.S there's a few sneaky listens at the end of the video..."

The pair have been kept apart for one of the longest times in their joint careers owing to lockdown.

They were midway through their latest series of Saturday Night Takeaway when social distance measures were introduced, forcing them to film the rest of the episodes from their homes.

But the pair are set to head back to work with the promotion of their latest book.

Once Upon A Tyne is described as "the riotously funny journey of two ordinary lads from Newcastle who went on to achieve extraordinary things".

The book will be released on September 3 and is available to pre-order now.
