It was meant to be his big night but new NTAs host David Walliams was upstaged by Ant & Dec in hilarious style.
Britain's Got Talent judge David stepped into the presenting shoes normally filled by Dermot O'Leary and all was going smoothly until after the first ad break when he, the studio audience and millions watching at home were left stunned by Ant & Dec being behind the presenting podium to take control of proceedings.
Just as they were getting into their stride, David shouted "NO NO!" and marched over to the pair on stage, as you can see in the video above taken from ITV.
He barked at them "You can't present everything Ant & Dec," to which they quipped "We don't present Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway...oh wait...we do!"
And then Ant had the last laugh by saying to David "Don't pay attention to what they're saying on Twitter; I think you're doing a great job."
Ant & Dec actually stayed on stage to present the Factual award to Jesy Nelson for her heart wrenching BBC documentary Odd One Out.
