Ant & Dec confirm everyone's Saturday Night Takeaway suspicions with one sentence

Ant and Dec wasted no time in addressing the elephant in the room at the start of this week's Saturday Night Takeaway, confirming everyone's suspicions from earlier this week.

Anyone who has ever tuned into Takeaway will know all about I'm A Celebrity Get Outta Me Ear, the prank that sees the Geordie presenters get famous faces to say and do all sorts of things by instructing them via an ear piece.

And people tuned into ITV on Monday were sure it was Ant and Dec that were behind the random goings on in Lorraine, This Morning and then Loose Women.

It all started when Lorraine interviewed KSI and, after accusing him of "mugging" her off with his comments about Bake Off, said: "I've got a bit of cramp in my leg.

The weirdness continued into This Morning as host Holly Willoughby acted up during a cookery demo but Loose Women's Judi Love leapt off her seat shouting there was mice in the studio and co-star Jane Moore complained of cramp.

Those who witnessed the bizarre behaviour pointed the finger straight at Ant and Dec but then on Friday's Lorraine, TV correspondent Ria Hebden hinted it was Takeaway co-host Stephen Mulhern responsible.

Well, Ant and Dec came clean about Takeway's involvement in the high jinks within a minute of Saturday's show starting.

As various tabloid headlines and tweets about the pranks flashed up on the screen behind them, Dec said: "It even made news in France! Lorraine Kelly made news in France.

"It's been all over the papers and social media"

Ant added: "Now a lot of people were speculating that it might have had something to do with Saturday Night Takeaway.

"We'd like to make it very clear that those people...were absolutely right and all will be revealed later in the show."

Dec then ended the item by saying: "Trust me, you do not want to miss it!"

Viewers were quick to react to the Geordie duo's admission, with one tweeting: "i KNEW when i was watching this morning the other day that something was off with it omg hahaha as if it’s for saturday night takeaway."
