Ant and Dec urge people to stay at home following plea from four-year-old with leukaemia

Presenters Ant McPartlin and Dec Donnelly have urged people to stay home after receiving a special request from a four-year-old.

The Geordie duo issued their message online after Mila Sneddon, from Falkirk, told ITV News that she wanted to hear them “say that all of the people have to stay indoors” during the coronavirus outbreak.

Mila is currently receiving intensive chemotherapy treatment after being diagnosed with leukaemia in November last year.

The cancer, which effects the immune system, makes the youngster more vulnerable to the virus which means she is self-isolating to minimise the risk.

Ant and Dec have now responded to Mila's requested and posted a video of them both in separate locations begging "everybody stay at home."

Ant said in the clip: “Hi everybody, And and Dec here, not together because we’re at home like everybody should be.”

Dec then added: “Mila wants us to tell everybody to stay at home so we can protect her and thousands and thousands of people like her.”

"So we will," Ant responded.

The pair then shouted “everybody stay at home” in unison.

"There, hope that helps Mila," Dec ended the clip.

A report by ITV news then shows Mila laughing at the video and then responding with her own message.

She said: "Thank you so much for Ant and Dec for the message," before blowing a kiss at the camera.
