Ant and Dec tease SMTV Live return to celebrate their 30 years TV anniversary

Ant and Dec have teased that they could bring back one of the most beloved shows as part of a celebration of their 30 years together on TV.

The Geordie duo were a hit on Saturday morning show SMTV Live, with Cat Deeley, and they have hinted it could be back 'later this year'.

The show originally ran from August 1998 until December 2003 and they could be returning to it nearly 17 years after it finished.

Speaking to the Radio Times at National Television Awards, where they won best presenters for a record-breaking 19th time, 43-year-old Dec said: "Watch this space!

"We might do something a little bit later in the year but we’ll let you know when we’ve got more firm plans.”

Ant, 43, added that they already have a busy schedule this year.

He said: "We’ve got Takeaway starting very soon, we’re working on that and putting the finishing touches to that, it starts very soon.

"Britain’s Got Talent is back, we’re working on that. Then back off to the jungle again for I’m A Celebrity at the end of the year.

"And that’s series 20 which we mentioned so that’s going to be a big one.”

Dec then added: "Series 20 for I’m A Celebrity and that will be the 30th year me and Ant have been working together so it’s our 30th anniversary so we might do something for that later on in the year…”

Taking to the stage to accept the NTA, Ant said: "On the way in we had our usual chat about this being the year we don't win it, and we were like 'look it's been a great run, we're very lucky to do what we do' and then you go and do this to us again.

"Thank you, we are more grateful and more humble as the years go on and we really do thank you from the bottom of our hearts."
