Ant and Dec express their delight after Newcastle United takeover goes through

Geordie superstars Ant and Dec have reacted to the news of the Newcastle United takeover and they did it rather musically.

The takeover by a Saudi-led consortium had been rumbling on since April 2020, but after months where it looked as though Mike Ashley's reign would continue it was dramatically turned around today.

Hundreds of fans have gathered outside St James' Park to celebrate the news that the deal is done, following a breakthrough in negotiations yesterday.

Their excitement looks to be matched by Ant and Dec themselves, whose musical Tweets today perfectly captured the mood around the city.
