Ant and Dec share glimpse of new Saturday Night Takeaway as filming starts

Ant and Dec have delighted their fans by sharing a sneak peek of the next series of Saturday Night Takeaway.

The Geordie presenting duo, both 45, took to their shared Instagram account on Tuesday evening to post a behind-the-scenes picture as filming kicked off for the ITV entertainment show.

They revealed that they had started shooting some promotional footage for Saturday Night Takeaway and shared the snap to get fans excited for when it returns sometime this year.

In the snap, Dec held up a clapperboard from the set which Ant rested his face on as they both beamed excitedly for the cameras.

"Dapper clappers at your Saturday Night service," they captioned the photo.

"A lil' peek from promo filming to tickle your fancy. Excited!?"

And the snap clearly thrilled their fans, with one commenting: "You've made a lot of people happy with this!"

"So freaking excited," another posted.

A third wrote: "It's like you guys know when I'm having a trash night and you post and make me smile and massive smile, thank youuuu."

It comes after Ant and Dec had previously shared the first look at the new series on their Instagram last week.

In the photo, Ant was shackled in a chair while Dec pulled a funny face in front of him.

They captioned the post: "What the hell's going on here? We're back at work thats what!

"Bit of covid-compliant @itvtakeaway filming... Who's excited for the new series?"

For the last nine years, the show has begun in February, so fans might not have very long to wait for the new series.

Saturday Night Takeaway was one of the first shows to be affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

There were fears it would be taken off air as the country went into lockdown, but the show carried on for a short time, just without a studio audience.

But the show was then taken off air early and replaced by two compilation episodes of its best bits.
