Ant and Dec share epic Chums reunion selfie as Saturday Night Takeaway viewers make demand

Ant and Dec made their fans very happy on Saturday night as they brought Chums back for a special reunion.

Those of a certain age will remember the SM:TV Live parody of US sitcom Friends from the late ninteties.

And of course the reunion wasn't complete without Cat Deeley rejoining the duo after they presented the Saturday morning TV show from 1998 to 2001.

As Saturday Night Takeaway viewers know, the big 'End of the Show, Show' is usually kept for something new and special.

So this week Ant, Dec and Cat performed a live episode of Chums as the fictional romance between Dec and Cat picked up where it left off 20 years ago.

As it gave a quick look at their twenty years together - there was something not quite right as Ant confessed to having kept something from them for two decades.

Ant dropped the bombshell that he had forgotten to have their marriage certificate signed all those years ago - so they were never actually married.

But that wasn't a problem as they set out to marry again with the help of Sting, Brian McFadden, Joe Lycett, Steps and Simon Pegg as well as Emily Atack as their daughter, and Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes as Cat's parents.

The episode, however, once again ended on a cliffhanger after Simon Pegg objected to the marriage.

Following Saturday night's show, Ant and Dec shared an epic behind-the-scenes selfie of them all together.

Ant, Dec and Cat all formed a bubble to be able to form the sketch.

As they all beamed into the camera, the Saturday Night Takeaway official Twitter account wrote: "Aw, what a legendary bunch of CHUMS! Thanks to these icons for an incredible show @antanddec #SaturdayNightTakeaway."

Ant and Dec also shared their gratitude after they were flooded with praise for the sketch.

They tweeted: "Ah thanks for all the lovely messages tonight, it was SO lovely to be reunited with @catdeeley and back in the #CHUMS flat. It brought back many happy memories for us, we hope it did for you too. See you next week. D #SaturdayNightTakeaway."

Cat also added: "Thank you for all the lovely messages ! Hope we made you smile xxxx."

However, they may have created a problem for themselves as fans have one specific demand.

"Petition for Ant and Dec and Cat to record a brand new series of chums," wrote one.

Another said: "@antanddec we need more #chums @itvtakeaway just made my year watching that reunion, loved it 20 years ago, love it now."

"Would anyone else absolutely love to watch a twenty minute episode of ‘Chums’ every Saturday night, or is it just me @antanddec #SaturdayNightTakeaway #chums," a third asked.

A fourth said: "Okay but we need more Chums @antanddec #SaturdayNightTakeaway."
