Ant and Dec set to launch 'life-changing game show with unique twist'

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly are reportedly set to bring us a "life-changing" new game show entitled Fortune Favours the Brave.

The Saturday Night Takeaway hosts have been staples of the television schedules for the last three decades now.

However, it seems the pair could be set to bring us a whole new bundle of entertainment to our screens.

Now The Sun reports that the pair’s production company Mitre Studios are working on a new game show that is set for a prime time slot on ITV, potentially for a Saturday night.

The details of the format are currently under wraps.

A source told the paper: “But it promises to be another sure-fire hit for the lads. Whether they host it or not remains to be seen.

“But either way, it’s very much the lads’ baby and they’ll put their all into making it a success.”

The apparent insider adds that the show will not be a rehash of game shows that we have seen before with their own “unique twist”.

The show is reported to be looking for contestants who can make “confident, dynamic and competitive teams of two with a mix of strengths and personalities”.

The winners on the show will reportedly win a large cash prize, with the winners needing great general knowledge, and ability to take risks and strong nerves.

The Mirror has approached ITV, Mitre Studios and a representative of Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly for comment on this story.

Mitre Studios is notable for already bringing us In For A Penny, hosted by the pair’s long-time friend Stephen Mulhern, and the celebrity family history series Our DNA Journey.

Earlier this month, Stephen told Notebook magazine what it was like to be the third person in the Ant and Dec partnership due to their long-standing collaborations.

Stephen revealed: “Weirdly, somebody said to me the other day, ‘You’re like the “and” in Ant and Dec.’ That’s quite funny to hear.

“But also my dad said, ‘You’re the Des O’Connor’ because when Morecambe and Wise were at the height of their fame, Des was the fall guy.

“It was the same sort of comedy where they’d say to Des, ‘You’re going to do this today…’”

Long may it continue!
