Ant and Dec say they would 'gladly' return to Wales in I'm A Celebrity update

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have said they would "gladly" return to Wales for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! this year.

The presenting duo were quizzed about the show, which took place at Gwrych Castle instead of the jungle in 2020, during an interview on ITV's Lorraine.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic it's not been decided where the 2021 series will be located, with fans desperate to know whether the ITV programme will head back to the Australian jungle or the beautiful Welsh building in Abergele. You can read more about viewers' reaction to the stunning scenery last year here.

Lorraine asked Ant and Dec: "Do you know whether you're going to be in Wales or whether your going to be able to back to Australia? It just depends?"

"It's still all up in the air at the minute," Dec explained, adding: "People are having conversations with Australia to see if they'll let us in and to see if that's going to work. If not we've got a lovely alternative to go back to Wales.

"We had a great time there, we had a really lovely series and the people of North Wales made us feel very, very welcome so we'd gladly go back there."

He added: "We'll have to see whether it's Oz or Wales we're not quite sure yet."

Earlier this year the chief of ITV confirmed the show will return to Australia this year if travel is possible. You can read more on this here.

Gwrych Castle recently reopened to the public with visitors able to see the famous outdoor areas including the privy and Kiosk Cledwyn's Ye Olde Shoppe.

It comes after castle bosses said ITV "sped up repairs by two years" after I'm A Celebrity was based there. You can read more on this here.
