Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway hit with Ofcom complaints

Almost 100 people have complained to Ofcom about a jibe made during a sketch on Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway.

Some viewers didn't find the joke about Dec's height funny, with other fans complaining about the innuendos on the ITV show.

The latest raft of complaints to Ofcom come just weeks after viewers were riled about Gordon Ramsay insulting a guest's teeth on the show, leading to 104 getting in touch with the regulator.

This time it was a comedy sketch, called Double Trouble, that caused offence, as Ant and Dec looked for help from adventurer Bear Grylls after they had been cloned - reports Mirror Online.

A teaser clip for the March 7 show showed the SNT hosts looking terrified as they chase after a man in a hooded jacket.

The mystery man turned out to be Bear and the presenters, who were trapped in horror, asked if the real-life action man was there to save them.

Ant and Dec asked him: "Have you come to rescue us?"

Bear replied: “No, this thing is way bigger than you."

Ant then cheekily joked as he gestured towards Dec: “Well everything’s bigger than him."

Despite the complaints the show is still the second highest rated show of the year, just behind ITV's The Masked Singer.

Ant and Dec's show returned to an average 7.3 million viewers, which has now edged up to 8.1 million as the series gets into its stride.

Before Ant's height jokes, it was a guest appearance by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay that got viewers in a lather.

He took part in a game of Read My Lips on the show but it was his remarks to a guest the prompted annoyed viewers to register their unhappiness.

As Gordon tried in vain to lip read a woman who was saying "garlic bread", Gordon moaned: "It's the gap in the teeth, I can't understand you.

The cruel comment prompted a flurry of complaints to the broadcasting watchdog.
