Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway comes under fire after nearly 100 Ofcom complaints

Ant and Dec 's Saturday Night Takeaway has come under criticism this week after a number of complaints were made to Ofcom.

The entertainment programme was reported to have had just under 100 complaints made to regulators after a joke was made about Dec's height on a recent episode.

The popular ITV gameshow has been running during lockdown, however some viewers were left unhappy about some innuendos that were also mentioned on air.

During a short comedy sketch, the presenting duo had been acting out a story that they had been cloned, and enlisted none other than Bear Grylls to help solve the problem.

In one clip, the Mirror reports that the hosts were left looking terrified as they chase dafter a man in a hooded jacket.

The mystery man turned out to be Bear and the presenters, who were trapped in horror, asked if the real-life action man was there to save them.

Ant and Dec asked him: "Have you come to rescue us?"

Bear replied: "No, this thing is way bigger than you."

Ant then cheekily joked as he gestured towards Dec : "Well everything’s bigger than him."

This year, Saturday Night Takeaway also came under fire from comments made by Gordon Ramsay about a woman's gap tooth.

While taking part in a game of 'read my lips', the celebrity chef made a remark that also caused viewers to instantly report their complaints.

As Gordon tried in vain to lip read a woman who was saying "garlic bread", Gordon moaned: "It's the gap in the teeth, I can't understand you."

The cruel comment prompted a flurry of complaints to the broadcasting watchdog.
