Ant and Dec reveal how much they almost won playing their own new game show - Limitless Win

The premiere of a brand new, one-of-a-kind, never-been-seen-before game show is finally upon us.

Limitless Win, hosted by Newcastle television presenting legends Ant and Dec, will air on Saturday (January 8) after some seriously long anticipation.

Viewers are expected to be perched on the very edge of their seats this Saturday night as they witness contestants answering number-based questions to climb the money ladder which reaches an unbelievable LIMITLESS cash prize...

But, if the hopefuls push their luck too far, they’ll crash out of the game and lose it all.

With an air date finally revealed as this Saturday, Ant and Dec, both 46, joined Lorraine Kelly to reveal a couple of teasers about their upcoming show, which is the first new program that the double act have launched in 10 years.

"It's been a while," Dec joked. "And we weren't really looking for a new show, we're very busy!

"Last year, we didn't have Britain's Got Talent because of Covid, so we had a bit of a gap."

Everyone's favourite double act: Ant and Dec joined Lorraine today to discuss their new show (ITV)

Explaining the plot of the quiz competition, he added: "As long as our players can stay in the game, they can keep climbing the ladder and it is limitless.

"Some very clever people - cleverer than us - came up to us and said, 'There's never been a game show without a jackpot'. It's always been 'This is our top prize', but what about if we took away that top prize and you can just keep going?"

They want to 'go on the journey' with the contestants (ITV)

Ant teased: "The clever thing about it is, the answer to every question is a number, so you can have a guess at home. You don't get to that stage where you go, 'I've got no idea, I can't play along'.

"You can play along all the way - it's always a number."

The Geordie duo, who have won the award for Most Popular TV Presenter at the National Television Awards for 20 years running, also admitted to having joined in with the game whilst the scripts and plans were being finalised.

"We played it and played it," Dec revealed. "We did it as contestants!"

Ant explained: "We got up to £1.2 million, up the ladder, but we just got a rush of blood to the head and then went, 'Ok! and kept answering too quickly, and then lost."

The pair are also set to present Britain's Got Talent as it makes it's return to our screens this Spring, and as always, will be hosting I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here in Winter despite uncertainty whether the new series will take place in the Aussie jungle or the Welsh castle.

Limitless Win starts on ITV tomorrow (Saturday 8 January) at 8:30pm.
