Ant and Dec reveal big reason why they returned to work for first time in nearly four months

Ant and Dec have returned to their familiar stomping ground of a studio after nearly four months away to do something very important.

The start of lockdown coincided with the end of the last series of Saturday Night Takeaway, with coronavirus forcing the Geordie duo firstly to host a live show without any audience and then to abandon the studio altogether to host the final two episodes direct from their living rooms.

They finally reunited last month for a game of golf and on Thursday they went back to work to record the audio book for their tell-all book Once Upon Tyne, which will be released later this year as the lads celebrate 30 years in the entertainment industry.

Taking their many Instagram fans behind the scenes of the recording session, they posted: " Watch us wreck the mic... (the audio book remix) Great to be back on the job together again!"

And the clip got their 4.1 million followers very excited. One responded: " YESS CANT WAIT LADS!" and another reacted: "Brilliant! Just too excited for your book."

Once Upon A Tyne is due out in September and, confirming its release earlier this year and revealing all, a source told The Sun: “The idea of a book to mark 30 years has been talked about by Ant and Dec and their team for a while.

"But as soon as word got out to the industry publishers were chomping at the bit.

"As it stands 12 publishing houses are bidding for it and it will sell for a massive figure. It’ll easily be the celebrity book of the year as Ant and Dec are national treasures."
