Ant and Dec play hilarious socially distanced badminton match across the street

Ant and Dec have found a novel way to keep themselves entertained during quarantine – by playing badminton and sharing the hilarious video evidence with fans.

The comedy duo took to Instagram on Friday to share a video clip of themselves playing sport while showcasing the comedy style that has made them national favourites.

Declan Donnelly, 44, looked ready for action as he posed in a pristine white tennis outfit complete with pulled up socks and a headband.

While 44-year-old Ant McPartlin shocked some fans by playing in a pair of slip on flip flops while serving for the socially distanced game.

As the pair played together, seemingly batting the shuttlecock over a garden wall, the duo began to question exactly who they were playing against in the coronavirus inspired sketch.

“This is great. So handy we live on the same street,” Dec said as he energetically hit back.

“You know I moved don’t you?” Ant replied, causing Dec to react in shock when his badminton partner revealed he had moved “six miles away.”

Ant then said he moved: “A little while ago,” prompting Dec to exclaim: “Did you? Well who the hell am I playing badminton with?”

The pair then ran away from the camera in horror as they realised they were not playing against each other as they had thought.

Ant and Dec shared the video via their shared Instagram account along with the caption: “We wondered why the neighbours complained about the racquet.”

The video was a hit with fans, with one writing in the comments section: “Haha I love how dec gets all up hyped for this. These videos are hilarious! Keep them coming!”

Last March the boys stopped being neighbours after living beside each other for decades in Chiswick when Ant opted to move house to West London.

Meanwhile, Dec still lives on the street alongside his wife Ali Astall and their daughter Isla, who will be two-years-old in September.
