Ant and Dec make savage dig at Boris Johnson and offer him a spot on I'm A Celeb next year

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly issued their last - but just as savage - dig at Boris Johnson as they offered him a spot on I'm A Celebrity next year.

It wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility after the Prime Minister's father Stanley Johnson appeared on the ITV show back in 2017 alongside Made in Chelsea star Georgia Toffolo.

The duo have been making digs at the PM over the last few weeks after The Mirror revealed earlier this week that Mr Johnson and his staff were accused of breaking Covid rules by attending parties at Number 10 in the run-up to last Christmas.

Despite continually denying that a party took place, staff at No 10 were filmed joking about the party just four days after it happened.

And while hosting the final tonight, Ant and Dec couldn't let it finish without getting one last joke in at Mr Johnson's expense.

Dec said: "Before we bring the curtain down on this year's show, we're always looking ahead. Rest assured, we're looking ahead. We'll let you into a little secret - we're already booked one for the next series."

As Ant rubbed his hands together, Dec pulled out a t-shirt out with the PM's name on it and a phone number to call.

While the backstage staff laughed, Ant grinned and pointed at the t-shirt as Dec said: "Evening Prime Minister!"

Last week, the duo doubled down on their savage swipes as Ant discussed how the campmates had hidden the fact they lost David's letter from home after the Castle Coin challenge earlier in the episode, Dec chimed in: "Not a great idea that, is it?"

Ant added: "If we've learned one thing in the last 24 hours, you can't cover something up."

Dec then continued: "No, that will come back to bite them at some point. Might take a year - but it will happen.

The situation was as clear as day, we all watched of them getting the question wrong. It was obvious what happened. Even Ant and Dec are ahead of the Prime Minister - sorry... Danny Miller... on this one."

He added: "Don't worry, we'll launch an enquiry on something - not that that'll do anything."

The pair couldn't help but make one more reference to what happened today in PMQs, as he said: "Anyway back to camp, where Frankie's been hitting Naughty Boy with a few personal music questions," before Dec added: "Or PMQs for short."
