Ant and Dec join revellers at Wembley Stadium ahead of Euros final kick-off

Ant and Dec have reunited to head to Wembley Stadium and join in the revellers watching England play in the Euros 2020 finals against Italy.

The game kicks off at 8pm tonight, and ahead of the start of the match the pair posed in an almost empty Wembley in their England kits.

Alongside the Instagram pic, the pair wrote: “We’re on the ball!! Come on England..”

The caption was in reference to their attempt at a football anthem for the 2002 World Cup.

The Geordie duo - famed for their presenting skills on Saturday Night Takeaway and I’m A Celebrity - released catchy track We’re On The Ball in celebration of the England team.

They peaked at number three in the Official Charts and remained in the Top 40 for an impressive 11 weeks before diving out.

That year, England made it through to the quarter finals of the World Cup, before being knocked out by Brazil.

But now, for the first time since 1966, the men’s football team have made it through to a major tournament final, and will play against Italy at Wembley tonight.

As a result, tickets to the finals are highly sought-after.

The celebrity guest list includes The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge William and Kate, alongside their son George; Tom Cruise; and David Beckham.

The Euros 2020s have seen England beat off Germany, Ukraine and Denmark to land their spot in the finals.

However, excitement over the match has seen the entire country devolve into chaos - with revellers setting off flares, climbing buildings and starting riots in central London.

Just two hours before the final kicked off, Wembley had a security issue as a group tried to storm the stadium, but were unsuccessful in their efforts.

Metropolitan Police had warned people without tickets to stay away from the area and said it would deploy "a great many officers and specialist units to prevent crime and disorder and respond to any incidents right across London".

UEFA later released a statement that read: “Fans have been jumping over barriers but there has been no access to the stadium. No concern that any protocol will come into place in which the stadium will be shut down.

“There is no concern this final will not go ahead.”

The game kicked off at 8pm as planned - starting with a goal by England just two minutes into the match.
