Ant and Dec 'gutted' as they break silence after ITV's I'm A Celebrity camp is evacuated

Ant and Dec have taken to social media in the wake of the I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! live shows being cancelled this weekend and then the subsequent evacuation of the campmates due to Storm Arwen.

The Geordie duo answered fans questions on Twitter after admitting they were "gutted" about the current situation at Gwrych Castle.

Writing from their official account, Declan Donnelly broke the presenting duo's silence by telling fans about how they feel about the unprecedented situation.

He wrote: "Absolutely gutted we’re not ‘live’ with you tonight but we’re watching the telly along with you! D x #ImACeleb "

They then proceeded to answer questions from fans, who were intrigued as to how their evenings off will pan out.

One tweeted: " @antanddec are you watching with your takeaway #ImACeleb #ImACelebrity "

Dec replied on behalf of the Saturday Night Takeaway hosts, writing: "Yes. Curry, to answer your next question! D #ImACeleb "

Another fan was pleased that there was a look back at some of the legendary campmates over the years of the ITV show, writing: " @antanddec thank you for still giving us a show to watch tonight! we're really grateful #imaceleb "

Dec wrote that it was nice to see the jungle camp in Australia again after the dramatic day and high winds in North Wales today.

He replied: "Bless you. Sorry we can’t be there but hope you’re enjoying seeing the show in Oz again! D x"

The duo shared their love for one more fan's pic before putting social media away so they could tuck into their curry, presumably.

Meanwhile, show bosses are battling the elements as the storm wreaked havoc with their production units, with photos showing their erected tents suffering considerable damage.

It was then reported that the celebrities have been removed from the castle amid reports that the high winds had brought down a 100ft tree in the vicinity of the where the show is being filmed.

In a statement from I'm A Celebrity, there was confirmation of the evacuation.

The statement read: "Whilst we get the production base back up and running after suffering technical issues due to the storm, we have removed the celebrities from the castle."

With no live show on Sunday night either, work continues around the clock before there is an announcement as to whether the show will return on Monday evening.
