Ant and Dec crack savage gag about the Government on I'm A Celebrity as PM remains in isolation

Days after delighting with their impressions of the Prime Minister, Ant and Dec cracked a savage gag at the Government's expense on Tuesday's I'm A Celebrity and viewers absolutely loved it.

The show returned from the ads when Dec said: "Before the break, Shane was starting his first solo trial Cruel Jewels," with Ant adding: "In this one he'd have to deal with a cabinet full of repellent, cold-blooded, hostile creatures," before Dec quipped: "Evening Prime Minister, how's the old isolation going?"

And, once again I'm A Celeb fans lapped up their humour, with one tweeted: "Ant & Dec are on fire this year. You have to stan" and a second reacted: " Ant & Dec are national treasures honestly"

Twitter was awash with praise for the Geordie duo, who were heralded as 'the saviours of 2020' within minutes of the new series starting.

Another fan posted: "I genuinely dont think #ImACeleb would be as successful as it has been if Ant & Dec didn’t present it. They’re still so funny, however many series’ later"

The presenting pair's jibe at the Government's expense came after their playful mocking of PM Boris Johnson last week when talking about contestant and BBC journalist Victoria Derbyshire.

"I can't wait to see Victoria Derbyshire's next hard-hitting political interview," said Ant.

Pretending to be Victoria, he added: "'Prime Minister, the public has a right to know. What's green, wobbly and flies through the sky?'"

Impersonating Boris Johnson, Dec said: "Ah, is it a jellycopter?" before adding that the PM would "definitely be watching" with him being in isolation, looking into the camera and saying: Evening, Prime Minister. He's definitely watching because he's isolating. Definitely watching."
