Ant and Dec comfort young performer on the Britain's Got Talent final as she bursts into tears

After working so hard to win a place in the final of Britain's Got Talent: The Champions the moment proved to be overwhelming for one young contestant who burst into tears.

Dance troupe MerseyGirls wowed the judges with their second performance of the series, dancing to Sia's Alive.

The high-energy performance was to celebrate troupe member Julia Carlisle who thought she would never walk again after they appeared on the series in 2017, until head judge Simon arranged for her to have surgery in America 'so she could dance forever.'

"Twice you have been absolutely sensational," Simon praised after their performance in the final of the 'champion of champions' show.

The music and TV talent show boss then chose one member of the troupe to explain why they deserved to win.

"We've worked so hard and it's just amazing and ..." she said, tailing off as she was overcome with emotion.

"Ah darlin'" said presenter Ant McPartlin comfortingly.

"Juliet is so brave and we're all here for her, thank you so much," she continued in tears as her fellow dancers flocked around her.

Stepping forward reassuringly Dec said: "You can see how much it means to them all."

Alesha Dixon said about them: "The love and support you have for each other, it just pours out."

And fellow judge Amanda Holden said: "We're both mummies of girls. If they took just one second of the joy and determination, it's really gorgeous."

Not only has plucky 'walking miracle' Julia danced, she has back-flipped to the amazement of the viewers and judges.
