Ant and Dec admit 'furious' Jeremy Kyle threw chair across the room in reaction to TV prank

Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have opened up about Jeremy Kyle's "furious" reaction to their prank, which saw them go undercover on the host's TV show in the US.

The duo managed to infiltrate The Jeremy Kyle Show USA, with Dec playing a man who wanted to transform himself into a cat.

Over the years, the pair have successfully managed to fool a whole host of celebrities - from James Corden to Simon Cowell.

But opening up about their 2013 prank with Jezza in their new book Ant and Dec Our Story: Once Upon A Tyne, the pair recalled him throwing a chair across the studio after realising they had pranked him.

Despite that, Ant and Dec insisted it was the "best undercover they'd ever done" and that they'd had a drink with Jezza afterwards.

Dec said: "The first problem was Jeremy's and our schedules.

"We worked out that the only time his show was recording when we were available was the middle of December, straight after I'm A Celebrity.

"That meant we did a 24 hour flight back from Australia got back to London, packed a bag, and then flew to New York.

"By the time we arrived in the City That Never Sleeps we had the most horrendous jet lag imaginable.

"When you add that to this very expensive trick to pull off... let's just sat the city wasn't the only thing that didn't sleep when we were in New York."

"I still remember the nerves on the day of filming," Ant continued. "We hadn't done an undercover in five years. It was terrifying."

Yet Jezza didn't recognise Ant and Dec in their costumes - leaving the host fuming when it came to the reveal.

Ant explained: "He was furious he threw a chair across at the studio floor and screamed 'nooo'.

"It was one of the best undercover we've ever done.

"We ended the night in a bar in Greenwich Village sharing a drink with Jeremy."
