Ant McPartlin admitted he "didn't know" whether he would be able to film a segment of Saturday Night Takeaway after the demanding schedule took its toll on the presenter.
Fans of the popular ITV series were treated to an exclusive look behind the scenes of what goes into making the show, following Saturday's grand finale live from Universal Orlando Resort in Florida. Sunday's documentary, Saturday Night Takeaway: Behind The Screens, followed the Geordie duo as they worked tirelessly to bring the live shows together each week.
One clip saw Ant and Dec preparing to practice one of their stunts, which this series has included being submerged in ice baths and walking the plank off the top of a skyscraper. But when the time came to film the scene, Ant admitted that he wasn't certain he would be able to make it in front of the cameras, The Mirror reports.

"I was in the car going, 'I'm really tired - I don't know if I can get the energy for today'," Ant candidly admitted. "And then you turn up and you see the cameras and you go, 'Oh, this is going to be fun!'"
Another part of the documentary showed a crew member telling the studio audience to laugh along to the pair's jokes. "If they say something funny, for the love of god, laugh," they instructed before the live show.
And Saturday Night Takeaway were thrilled to be shown how the magic happens. "I'm loving behind the scenes of Saturday Night Takeaway," one viewer praised on Twitter. "Wow, such a lot of hard work from the production team. Well done everyone."
Another added: "The making of Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway was absolutely quality! Loved seeing behind the scenes of the best show on telly."
And a third fan said: "Behind the Screens is amazing. As a uni student doing a film course, it's brought me a valuable insight into the show and working on the show is one of my lifelong dreams so you never know."
