Answering the 8 Biggest Questions and Bets Ahead of Game of Thrones’ Final Season

The eighth and final season of Game of Thrones is just days away. Here are the answers the eight biggest bets/questions heading into the season:

We can’t lose Cersei too early. She needs to be around to be hated at least up until The Great War begins. The Moutain at +1000 is the way to go here. Put me down that Arya comes in and saves The Hound by killing The Moutain. Not bad, huh?

Pick: The Mountain +1000.

This is easy, it will be Jaime. It is still shocking that he made it through last season and we should all expect the tension between him and Cersei to continue to grow. Cersei’s days ruling are coming to an end and slaying the King Slayer before he adds a second to his list is how I see this one playing out.

Unless everyone dies, and that may be the case, Tyrion is safe to make it.

Pick: Jamie +160.

No!

Just stop! Look, I have no idea who the Night King is. Based on a few scenes, it looks like he has some connection to Jon. But it is not his brother cousin. Part of me thinks, like Jon, the Night King is a Targaryen. He isn’t Bran, though. Take the No and run.

Pick: No -400

So, this looks like odds on who will be killed, not killed first. Which means Cersei. It would be a monumental disappointment if it is not Cersei. Oh, and if she is not killed by Arya, what a mistake. Arya checking off Cersei on her list in the 4th episode of the season is the prediction here.

Daenerys at -250 is a good bet, as well.

Pick: Cersei -3300

“The” Night King or “a” Night King? It says “the,” therefore, this is a “No.” I do, however, think a new Night King will survive and wake up with blue eyes in the last scene…

Pick: No

Arya … duh! If it is not, shame on the writers. I guess Sansa makes sense, too, kind of. Maybe we get the sisters getting the job done together?

Don’t overthink this one, take the favorite and move on.

Pick: Arya +150

This is the toughest one to answer. I can’t see either unless, of course, everyone goes. I mean, as said earlier, that could be in play. The bet here has to be Arya, though. Sansa has been through too much. Arya, who is more dangerous, could find herself in the wrong place at the wrong time during The Great War. Again, I see neither perishing, but it won’t be Sansa.

Counter: They killed Ned in the first season!!!

Pick: Arya -175

As teased last week, I have an earth-shattering prediction when it comes to this one. Today is not the day to say it – later this week will be – and it includes none of the names listed above. But if forced to choose out of this pool, give me Jon Snow. This is Jon’s story, he is the rightful heir as Rhaegar Targaryen’s son. Defeating the army of the dead, saving Westeros, ending the Lannister dynasty, and becoming the best king yet sure would be a happy ending.

Don’t get Bran as the favorite here…

Pick: Jon Snow 350+
