Ansu Fati has no intention of leaving Barcelona despite interest from Manchester United.
The youngster has previously been linked with a move away from the Nou Camp but is determined to be a major player under Xavi. Fati had been the only Barcelona player to appear in every game this term, before he was left on the bench for the entirety of their win at Villarreal.
Xavi has often called upon Fati from the bench, but rather than considering his options the Spanish international wants to fight for a starting role, reports Mundo Deportivo. Barcelona do have a host of attacking options, including Robert Lewandowski, Ferran Torres and Raphinha.
Fati's contract runs until 2027, meaning Barcelona are in a strong position to retain the 20-year-old. There is no shortage of interest in the forward, but his focus is on helping the Catalans regain the LaLiga title as they currently sit ahead of Real Madrid.
Jorge Mendes is the man who helps decide Fati's future, but he retains a strong relationship with Barcelona chief Joan Laporta. They have held discussions with any decision on the player's next move to take place at the end of the season with United's interest well known.
Those at Old Trafford are looking to bolster their attacking options. Erik ten Hag is yet to bring in a natural No 9 - albeit Fati won't fix that problem, but he would add to the quality that already exists in the squad. Antony was signed in the summer but has so far failed to live up to his price tag in his wide forward position.

Laporta has recently been quizzed on Fati's future and said: "He is a Barça player, in whom we have high hopes and we have no news that his agent wants to do anything." Fati is keen to get more minutes having seen players of a similar age, namely Pedri and Gavi, become mainstays in the starting XI.
Fati said earlier this season: “Yes, it’s true that I expected that I would play more. I want to play but I understand that the coach is the one who decides, and I have to give my best every day to be able to turn it around.”
Xavi has said on his young forward: "Things will work out for him, we have to be patient, he is a spectacular asset for the club, we trust him a lot, he is working very well, he has a tremendous mentality in training, but we need to be patient. He is 20 years old and needs time, like everyone else. This is not the time to talk about sales."
