Tony and Maria are pretty and witty and gay in Steven Spielberg's beige version of "West Side Story."
Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment released the first look at the upcoming remake, which features "Baby Driver" star Ansel Elgort and newcomer Rachel Zegler as the leads, along with a bevy of Sharks and Jets.
The musical, based on the original 1967 Broadway show, will be produced and directed by Spielberg with Tony Kushner penning the script and Justin Peck choreographing.

Rita Moreno, who won an Oscar for her role as Anita in the original 1961 version, will play Valentina, a "reconceived and expanded version" of Doc, the owner of the corner store in which Tony works.
"Never in my wildest dreams did I see myself revisiting this seminal work," she said in a statement in November. "And to be asked by Steven Spielberg to participate is simply thrilling! Then to work together with the brilliant playwright, Tony Kushner _ what a glorious stew! I am tingling!"
Ariana DeBose (Anita), David Alvarez (Bernardo), Mike Faist (Riff), Josh Andres Rivera (Chino), Corey Stoll (Lieutenant Schrank) and Brian d'Arcy James (Sergeant Krupke) round out the cast.
"West Side Story" is set for a Dec. 18, 2020, theater release.
