London (AFP) - Gareth Anscombe's missed kick and a Sam Davies last-minute penalty gave the Ospreys a European Champions Cup play-off place at the expense of Cardiff Blues with a 26-23 Pro14 win over their Welsh rivals on Saturday.

Wales fly-half Anscombe, who leaves Blues for Ospreys next season, ended the match with an 18-point haul.

But the New Zealand-born stand-off missed a routine kick shortly before Davies's decisive score to finish with a try, three penalties and two conversions.Josh Turnbull scored Cardiff's other try.

Cory Allen and Nicky Smith scored both scored tries for Ospreys with Davies converting both and adding four penalties.

Cardiff drew level in a see-saw match with an Anscombe penalty in the 67th minute  before Ospreys' full-back Dan Evans was sent to the sin-bin for a deliberate knock-on.

But Anscombe was off target with what should have been a straightforward penalty and, with just a minute left on the clock, Evans made no mistake with a 30-metre effort.

On a day of derby games, Glasgow secured a home Pro14 semi-final with a 34-10 win over Edinburgh that ended their Scottish rivals hopes of qualifying for next season's Champions Cup.

Sam Johnson and Ali Price scored in a dominant first-half display for Glasgow and Niko Matawalu went over on the hour mark to put the hosts out of sight at Scotstoun.
