'Another wobble' - Fans of Nottingham Forest's promotion rivals have mixed feelings about restart

The Championship will return this month - and Nottingham Forest will be eager to resume their promotion push.

It is almost three months since the Reds were last in action, when they fell 3-0 at home to Millwall, as the season was suspended in March due to the coronavirus crisis.

The English Football League have now confirmed games will get back underway on June 20. And that means the battle for a place in the Premier League will recommence.

All teams have nine fixtures remaining, and the table still looks pretty tight.

Forest are fifth, 11 points adrift of leaders Leeds United, 10 behind second-placed West Bromwich Albion and with a five-point lead over seventh-placed Bristol City.

Sabri Lamouchi’s men have clashes with Sheffield Wednesday, Huddersfield Town, the Robins, arch-rivals Derby County, Fulham, Preston North End, Swansea City, Barnsley and Stoke City to fit in.

The EFL say the play-off final will take place on or around July 30, so a lot of matches will need to be squeezed into a short space of time.

Will the Reds be able to close down the top two or is a play-off spot more realistic?

The next few weeks are certainly going to be interesting.

Here’s what fans of some of Forest’s rivals have been saying about the restart.
