Another week, another historical betting line involving the Chiefs

The Chiefs have a knack for making waves in the sportsbooks this year, setting records for betting lines.

Here's yet another.

The Chiefs and Rams have set the line for the largest over/under in NFL history, per BetDSI, which has been tracking odds for more than three decades. The over/under for Monday's game _ the combined point total between the two teams _ is 63{ points. That's two more than the previous record, another Rams game in 2000, when they played the 49ers. (That was the Greatest Show on Turf era.)

In order for the Monday's game to officially set the record, the current total will have to hold in place until kickoff, but given that betters actually favored the over in their early action, it's likely to do that. Perhaps they're in tune with the history there. Since 2003, there have been 11 NFL games featuring over/under lines totaling 57{ points or more. The over was reached in all 11. That includes the Chiefs-Patriots matchup earlier this season, a game the Patriots won 43-40.

So, expect a really high scoring game Monday.

And the Vegas oddsmakers are expecting a Rams win. The Rams opened as a 2{-point favorite against the Chiefs, the first time Kansas City has been an underdog since Week 6 in New England.

The move from Mexico City to Los Angeles hindered the Chiefs' chances to win, per the oddsmakers, who pushed the line to 3{ points after the announcement earlier this week.

Both teams are 9-1 and favored to win their respective conferences and reach the Super Bowl, but the Chiefs have provided bettors with a significantly better return on their investments. The Chiefs are 7-3 against the spread this year, despite failing to cover last week's 17{-point line against the Cardinals. The Rams are just 4-5-1 against the spread. Both teams are 5-5 in relation to the over/under.
