Another new coronavirus testing centre has opened in Netherton as the fight against the spread of coronavirus continues.
The walk-through testing centre at the Netherton Activity Centre car park in Glovers Lane opened on Monday and is the third walk-through centre in Sefton, along with earlier locations in Bootle and Southport.
People with Covid-19 symptoms will be able to book an appointment online or by calling 119, and the site is intended to be easily accessible without a car.
The new centre is part of plans to expand community testing after problems with testing services saw some Merseyside residents being directed to testing centres as far away as Inverness as there were no appointments available locally.
Health minister Lord Bethell said: “We continue to expand testing to make sure that everyone with symptoms can get a test, with our new walk-in sites making it even easier no matter where you live.
“This new site forms part of our national testing network, which has the capacity to test more than a million people a week and is growing all the time.
“If you have symptoms of coronavirus, I urge you to book a test today and follow the advice of NHS Test and Trace if you are contacted to protect others around you and stop the spread of the virus.”

Like the rest of Merseyside, Sefton has seen a significant rise in cases of Covid-19 since the end of August.
Last week, Sefton’s infection rate reached 480 cases per 100,000 residents, with cases concentrated in the south of the borough.
