Another two West Lothian schools have reported confirmed cases of Covid-19.
Both Livingston Village Primary School and Riverside Primary School in Livingston reported a "small number of confirmed cases" in recent days and weeks.
Another school in the area, Toronto Primary School has had one confirmed case.
The Courier revealed yesterday that the outbreak of infections in Livingston has led to West Lothian having a coronavirus infection rate close to treble the national average.
The schools have been in touch with NHS Lothian and the parents have been informed.
As well as the three schools above, The Courier has reported in the last week on an outbreak at nearby Peel Primary School and the school closing for a period of blended learning.
A spokesperson for West Lothian Council said: “ Confirmed cases within our school communities over the past year have been small.
He added: “We have liaised directly with parents at specific schools where there have been confirmed cases, and this will continue going forward.
“The council follows advice from NHS Public Health at all times. We will not be commenting further on individual cases and we are fully focussed on allowing our young people to return to their school to continue with their learning and development.”
The headteacher at Livingston Village Primary School, Nicola Hamilton, said online: “Over the past week we have been made aware of a small number of cases within the Livingston Village Primary community who have tested positive for Covid-19.
“We understand that this is a worrying time but would like to reassure you that we are working closely with NHS Lothian Health Protection Team and following all national guidance.
“Anyone that may have been in close and sustained contact with the case will be contacted directly and will need to self-isolate. They will be given appropriate guidance and advice.
“If you are not contacted directly to inform you that your child is a close contact, then your child should attend school as normal.”
