Head Coach To Decide Between Two QB’s For Saturday’s Game vs Toledo

It’s the worst news that Colorado State fans could have received but one that most were expecting. Redshirt junior quarterback Collin Hill tore the ACL in his left knee during the third quarter of last Saturday’s game against Arkansas. It’s the third tear in the same knee and will end Hill’s 2019 season.

Colorado State head coach Mike Bobo now turns to either redshirt junior and Nebraska transfer Patrick O’Brien who came in after Hill left the game and went 7/10 for 106 yards and a touchdown or redshirt sophomore Justice McCoy out of Louisiana.

O’Brien is was a top 10 quarterback coming out of high school and is more of a pocket passer. He saw some game time while at Nebraska but transferred to Colorado State after Scott Frost was hired on as head coach and moved away from a pro-style offensive scheme.

McCoy has yet to see the field in his collegiate career but was one of the better dual-threat quarterbacks coming out of high school.

Bottom line is that Bobo has options under center and it’s a safe assumption that both will take some snaps Saturday night when Toledo comes to Fort Collins.
