Another team join Aston Villa in race for £25m Chelsea striker who previously starred for Bristol City

Fenerbahce have joined the race for Tammy Abraham.

The former Bristol City striker has returned to Chelsea after an impressive loan spell at Aston Villa last season in which he helped them to the Premier League via the play-offs.

Now Birmingham Live report that Turkish giants Fenerbahce are keen on signing the striker on a permanent basis.

Villa want to bring the former Robin back for their return to the Premier League but they face competition to do so.

Reports claim the former City striker is available for around £25m as Chelsea prepare for their transfer embargo this summer - they look light on strikers, with Gonzalo Higuain returning to Juventus and Alvaro Morata out on loan.

Fernerbahce have a positive working relationship with the Blues after a successful loan spell with Victor Moses last season and are said to be keen on a similar deal for Abraham this summer.

Meanwhile, Chelsea have launched an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), a statement has confirmed.

It reads: “The Court of Arbitration for Sport has registered an appeal filed by Chelsea Football Club Ltd (CFC) against the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).

This follows their initial appeal, which was rejected by the global governing body.
