Salford Red Devils' next two games postponed after positive Covid cases

Salford Red Devils' next two Super League games have been postponed after positive Covid-19 cases at the club.

One Red Devils player tested positive for the virus on Tuesday morning before another player recorded a positive on Wednesday.

As a result of track and trace stand-downs, the Red Devils are without more than seven players due to Covid-19 and their game with Wakefield Trinity on Thursday, as well as their match with Hull FC next week, have been called off.

It adds to the growing number of games being called off as a result of Covid-19 in recent weeks.

Leeds Rhinos have already had two games called off due to an outbreak in their camp with Huddersfield Giants have also been forced to rearranged games. Hull KR were the most recent club to suffer an outbreak which has resulted in their last two games to be called off.

Meanwhile, Covid-19 has also impacted Castleford Tigers, who have been forced to concede their game with St Helens this week as they can't raise a team.

It looks increasingly unlikely that all games will be fulfilled, with Super League to be determined on win percentage.
