'Another one gone' - Arsenal fans fume as Sam Greenwood nets hat-trick for Leeds United U23s

Arsenal fans have reacted angrily to Sam Greenwood's hat-trick for Leeds United under-23s.

The striker signed for Leeds in the summer, with Arsenal seemingly willing to let the 18-year-old move to Elland Road.

He has hit the ground running in Leeds' under-23s, netting an impressive hat-trick against Sunderland.

It prompted an outcry from Arsenal fans over the club's decision to let him leave for Leeds.

Greenwood's first - his second in two matches - came as he ran onto a through ball and fired past the keeper for a powerful finish.

The striker then netted a fine free-kick from 25 yards out, curling the ball over the wall and into the top corner of the net.

He added a third when Leeds stole the ball in midfield and hit Sunderland on the counter.

Sunderland fans were equally disappointed to see Greenwood score a hat-trick, with the striker growing up in the Black Cats' youth academy.

Greenwood explained last month that he made the switch to Leeds due to the pathway youngsters have into the first-team at Elland Road.

"I'm absolutely buzzing. I can't wait to get started. It's such a big club, it's exciting times for the club," he told LUTV.

"For me, it seems like it's got such a good pathway for young players to come through. Such an exciting manager and the fans are special."

He added: "Such an exciting time. Arsenal's a great club, I've met some great people along the way, but for me and my career I think it's the perfect time to come to Leeds and kick on now.

"I started at Sunderland, got the move to Arsenal and now I've come here I feel like I relate to these people.

"Obviously Sunderland is a working class area, similar to Leeds and I think I'll fit into this kind of environment perfectly. It feels nice to be up north."
