Another new tenant secured at Derby’s Eagle Park

A national plumbing and bathroom supplier has become the latest company to sign up for space at a new Derby business park.

James Hargreaves Ltd has signed up for Unit 24 at Eagle Park, in Alfreton Road, in a deal secured by BB&J Commercial.

Founded in 1968 in Burnley, James Hargreaves has more than 50 branches across the north of England.

As part of the firm’s planned growth, the new Derby depot is viewed by the company as a natural expansion ‘south’.

Eagle Park is being created on the former Draka Cables site. After the factory shut it was snapped up by local developer Ivygrove Developments, which cleared the site to make way for a number of new commercial units on the land.

Among the companies that have taken space at Eagle Park include Davis Derby (Black & White PR)

The site has so far attracted businesses including Howdens Joinery, Screwfix, Davis Derby and French company Dedienne.

Chris Keogh, senior surveyor at BB&J Commercial, said: “Eagle Park has a good mix of businesses in what is one of Derby’s principle employment areas and really does offer a ‘one stop’ location for most tradesmen with the likes of Howdens, EMC Tiles and Screwfix all based here.

“Therefore, having a plumbers/bathroom supplies business to add to this mix complements the existing occupiers.

“James Hargreaves Limited has an excellent reputation in the north of England and by opening the new Derby branch this means that they can provide a far greater coverage to their existing clients located within the East Midlands.”

Following an extensive fit-out, James Hargreaves hopes to have its new Derby showroom ready for business by late summer or early autumn.

Mr Keogh said: “Unit 24 is situated to the front of the Eagle Park development and has great prominence to Alfreton Road and so ticked every box for the tenant and we wish them the best of luck with the move.

“We now only have three units remaining on the site, all of which are in prominent locations to the front and we’re currently in discussions with other occupiers for these.”
