Another Manchester United boss vows to knock Liverpool off their perch

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has become the latest Manchester United manager to admit he must try and knock Liverpool off their perch!

Alex Ferguson famously declared: "My greatest challenge was knocking Liverpool right off their f***ing perch. And you can print that."

While current boss Solskjaer admitted today the Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool are "too far ahead at the moment from what we like."

The Reds are currently 21 points and five places above United in the Premier League table.

And as a result Solskjaer has promised ruthless decisions will be taken with the United squad this summer.

"I'm under no illusions that this is not going to be plain sailing,"! he said. "It's going to be hard. As I said before it's survival of the fittest and also survival of the best. And that's how ruthless we have to be.

"We need players here who are going to be able to take us forward and that means the culture in the dressing room, what we do every single day here to make us challenging again.

"Because Liverpool and City are two teams that are too far ahead at the moment from what we like.
