Another man arrested in connection with murder of juvenile in Drogheda, Co Louth

An eight person has been arrested in connection with the murder of a juvenile in Drogheda, Co Louth.

The man, who is in his 20s, was take into custody on Friday morning and is currently detained at Mountjoy Garda station under a Section 42 warrant of the Criminal Justice Act, 1999.

A man and woman arrested on Wednesday remain in garda custody.

A spokeswoman said: "Gardaí in Drogheda investigating the murder of a juvenile in January, 2020 have arrested a man (mid 20s) today Friday 19th February, 2021.

"The man was arrested this morning and is currently detained at Mountjoy Garda station under a Section 42 warrant of Criminal Justice Act, 1999.

"The man and woman arrested on Wednesday 17th February, 2021 remain in Garda custody detained under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act, 2007 at Drogheda and Balbriggan Garda stations.

"This brings to eight the number of arrests for this investigation."
