Another major international honour for Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford after England penalty heroics

Jordan Pickford was the only England player named in the UEFA Nations League team of the tournament.

The Everton goalkeeper, who saved the decisive penalty and scored England's crucial fifth in the shoot-out success against Switzerland yesterday, was the only member of Gareth Southgate’s squad to make it into the XI based on UEFA’s FedEx Performance Zone.

Pickford produced a string of fine saves in England’s 3-1 extra-time semi-final defeat to Holland on Thursday and then picked up the man-of-the-match award on Sunday.

Pickford kept a clean sheet after 120 minutes of the third-place play-off against Switzerland, then denied Josip Drmic to seal a 6-5 victory.

That was enough to see him named as the tournament's top keeper.

Pickford was pipped for the World Cup Golden Gloves award by Belgium rival Thibaut Courtois, but was named as the number one this summer.

Bernardo Silva, from champions Portugal, was named the Player of the Tournament with Netherlands' Frenkie de Jong picked as best young player.
