Another look inside the Punch Bowl as Jesmond's newest pub opens for first weekend

The Punch Bowl is back open after four years and a £1 million facelift.

The Jesmond Road pub opened again on Thursday for the first time since 2015.

It's been taken over by Frank & Bird, the publicans behind the Brandling Villa's transformation in South Gosforth.

We paid the pub a second visit this week, to see the Punch Bowl in its fully finished glory - after we called in for a and a chat two days before the relaunch.

Where else in Newcastle can you have a pint, pee in a Japanese toilet and then throw darts at a picture of Donald Trump ?

The Punch Bowl is certainly unique in its decor, which is inspired by both global travel and the pub's home city.

The dog-friendly pub has two rooms on the ground floor, with a smaller bar and a larger lounge.

Bar snacks and a full menu are both served

A new live venue, Bobiks, is upstairs. Bobiks has removable cinema seats, which are used for screenings and some gigs, while others are standing only.
