'Another loan!' - Arsenal fans have Dani Ceballos theory after Mikel Arteta Instagram message

Some Arsenal supporters have taken to Twitter to react to Dani Ceballos' comment on one of the clubs' latest Instagram posts.

The Gunners eased past Southampton 3-0 on Saturday afternoon thanks to goals from Alexandre Lacazette, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Magalhaes at the Emirates Stadium.

The first of the three goals from Lacazette was perhaps the pick of the bunch. Starting from their own box, the hosts went on a 16-pass move that ended up in the Frenchman slotting the ball into the back of the net.

Arsenal's Instagram account posted a video of the clip, alongside the stats behind it: 16 passes, 39 seconds - with Ceballos commenting on the post.

The Real Madrid midfielder, who spent two seasons on loan at the Gunners before returning to the Spanish capital over the summer, simply said: "Made in ARTETA (fire emoji)."

With that three-word comment from Ceballos, some Arsenal fans think he is begging for another loan move in north London.

Ceballos has been frozen out under Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid this season - with the 25-year-old midfielder yet to make a competitive appearance in any competition for Los Blancos.

With his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu due to expire at the end of next season, there is no doubt that Ceballos will be linked with an exit from Madrid over the January transfer window.

A return to Arsenal could be on the cards, with Ceballos' admiration of Mikel Arteta perfectly clear.

Speaking about his former boss to El Larguero over the summer, Ceballos tipped his compatriot to become one of the world's best coaches in the "next few years".

He said: "Arteta is a coach who I am sure will be one of the best in the world in the next few years, but I would like to return to the Spanish league."

A few months before that, Ceballos also insisted that Arteta had made him a much better player, when speaking to Arsenal's official website in September 2020.

The Spaniard said: "To be honest, it wasn't easy for him (Arteta, when being appointed as Arsenal manager) because he was coming into a dressing room that had already had two other coaches and where the team hadn't been able to get the results that everyone wanted.

"It wasn't easy for me to get into the team either because I was coming off the back of a long injury lay-off. I felt like I should be playing but I was wrong about that because I was not fit.

"The coach was really straight with me and said that if I got myself fit and kept working hard, I would have a chance of getting back into the team.

"I ended up performing well and repaying the faith he had shown in me before the Newcastle game. From that moment onwards, we started to build a good coach/player bond and things went well for me personally. I think he has made me a much better player in the last six months."
