Another Kerry primary school has positive coronavirus case as parents informed

Another Kerry primary school has had a confirmed case of coronavirus in one of their students.

A primary school and secondary school in West Kerry sent classes home on Thursday after a positive cases with the latest school becoming the third in the county.

A student in this school, which is in a separate area from the previous two, tested positive with all parents receiving a letter on Friday.

It is believed the student had not been sent to school and contacts were kept to a minimum - only confirmed close contacts were asked to stay home with the rest of the school continuing as normal.

The HSE has conducted a full risk assessment and all those involved have been contacted.

So far since schools opened, five in Dublin, three in Kerry, one in Meath and one in Clare have all had positive tests.

The HSE and Government guidelines here in Ireland advise that schools should contact the one of the Departments of Public Health within the HSE before taking a decision on whether to shut down, if there is a suspected or confirmed case of Covid-19.
