'Another imperious defensive display' - Bristol City player ratings after 3-3 draw with Preston North End

Bristol City drew 3-3 away at Deepdale to continue their disappointing run against Preston North End.

Preston are now unbeaten in their last 13 league matches against the Robins since a 4-0 defeat in February 2011 under Phil Brown.

City scored through Taylor Moore, Andi Weimann and Nathan Baker while the hosts netted twice from the penalty spot through Paul Gallagher and Daniel Johnson before Patrick Bauer ensured the points were shared with a goal in the 70th minute.

Bristol City writer Gregor MacGregor takes a closer look at the individual performances.

Taylor Moore of Bristol City scores a goal to make it 0-1 (Rogan/JMP)

Dan Bentley - 7

Not near to either of the penalties and could do little with Bauer's but more good distribution and solid on the crosses that came his way.

Jack Hunt - 7

Created two good chances with his crossing early doors -  and also another late in the game as the Robins went for the win. Carried on his good form.

Nathan Baker - 8

Another imperious defensive display at the back as he won anything tossed up. Most aerial duels won and most clearances made in the game. Capped the display with his half-volley goal after a free-kick.

Ashley Williams - 7

Brilliant in the centre of defence - with vital interceptions and tackles. Stopped Maguire getting into a shooting position in the first half. Unlucky with the penalty decision that could easily have not been given, and looked to be blowing hard at the end, but good display.

Tommy Rowe - 8

More superb play from the summer free transfer: shutting down City's left flank  in the main and almost scoring from Hunt's cross in the first half. Didn't ever really look in trouble throughout and although at times outnumbered on his flank in the latter stages.

Taylor Moore - 7

Grabbed his first goal of the season and apart from being caught on the ball early on didn't put a foot wrong in the first half. Did allow Harrop to turn inside him dangerously - but that was mainly due to a deflection in the box. Unlucky to be subbed off.

Josh Brownhill - 7

Carried the fight forward for City throughout the game  and after a mediocre first half was more at it in the second. Created the most chances in the game.

Han-Noah Massengo - 8

Gave away the penalty for a rash foot in but it was a little soft and may not have been given at other times. Pressed and drew fouls well and an outrageous bit of skill in the second half to set City on the front foot.

Kasey Palmer - 7

Lovely silky play in the middle of the pitch and cleverly found Weimann and Semenyo in the box several times early on. Kept the ball well, drew fouls and worked hard. Good shift.

Andi Weimann - 6

Big opportunity in the first 10 minutes as Palmer picked him out. Unfortunately his cross only found Fisher. Unable to conjure that bit of quality in the second half when needed.

Antoine Semenyo - 6

Did well initially holding the ball up and combining well with Palmer, and almost scored as the ball fell to him in the box after a corner. Taken off with half an hour to go and unable to affect the game.

Substitutes

Famara Diedhiou - 6

Replaced Semenyo just before the hour mark. Gave away the most fouls and also scored... but it was disallowed.

Marley Watkins - 6

The Robins changed shape and brought on the former Norwich man for his first senior appearance of the season. Looked a bit rusty and squandered chances.

Callum O'Dowda - n/a

Brought on straight after City had scored their third. Worked hard but unable to add any magic.
