Another high street giant announces plans to shut Leeds city centre shop

Another shop in Leeds city centre is set to close as the high street’s misery continues.

We’ve seen shopping in Leeds and across Yorkshire change dramatically this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Many industry experts claim our shopping habits have altered greatly and the rise in online shopping, more than ever, is having a huge influence on high streets stores.

The latest Leeds city centre closure is coming in the shape of the Trespass shop - based in Commercial Street.

According to the signage at the front of the shop all stock must go. The store is expected to be open for a few more weeks yet so there’s still time to pop in and pick up a bargain.

We’ll bring you more on the impending closure of Trespass when we get it.

Earlier this weekend, we brought you news of Shoe Zone in the Merrion Centre announcing plans to shut.

This year, we’ve sadly seen many shops and restaurants close in Leeds city centre.

There was the recent closure of Zara Home as well as Timberland, Thorntons, Monsoon and others earlier in the year.

You can find out the latest shopping news from the city by visiting our Best in Leeds page.
