Following yesterday's piece here about how succesful businesses were in starting up in large numbers, it's worth balancing the picture a bit - the Daily Telegraph had a piece here stating that far from increasing, start-ups were on the wane and at their lowest in a decade.
What this means I don't know - probably it tells us that someone is getting something wrong. I do wonder, though, whether anyone's actually analysing whether businesses starting up en masse is a good or a bad thing. Businesses are at their most vulnerable at the beginning - should a whole bunch of them starting up be seen as such a good thing?
Any readers care to share any nightmares they had in the earliest stages of running a business?
