Another fire broke out at Crosshouse Hospital earlier this morning.
The blaze took hold in a plant room on Tuesday morning with three fire engines racing to the scene. It's the second blaze to break out in just over a week.
Scottish Fire and Rescue have reported that there were no casualties as a result of the incident.
The fire follows on from another blaze that took hold in a plant room in the kitchen area last Monday morning.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “We were alerted at 8.44am on Tuesday, August 20 to reports of a small fire within a plant room at University Hospital Crosshouse.
“Operations control mobilised three fire engines to the scene, where crews extinguished the fire.
“There were no casualties.”
The kitchen fire that broke out last week caused extensive damage to the electrical switchgear.
This meant that patients received no hot meals. Instead, they were offered hot soup and sandwiches
Staff were able to purchase snacks from the volunteer’s shop and tea room.
