Another coronavirus death in Liverpool adds to Trust's total

Liverpool's main hospital Trust has sadly recovered another coronavirus death.

The city's University NHS Trust - which covers the Royal, Aintree and Broadgreen hospitals has added the fatality in today's update.

It means that 473 people have now died across the various hospitals after testing positive for Covid-19.

It was the only additional death recorded at any of Merseyside's hospitals in today's update.

The death totals are as follows:

Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust - 4

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust - 4

Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 19

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 473 (+1)

Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust - 3

Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust - 150

St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust - 208

Warrington and Halton Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 136

Across English hospitals, the NHS said a further 19 people have died after testing positive for coronavirus.

A spokesperson said: "A further 19 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 29,231.

"Patients were aged between 35 and 89 years old.

"All had known underlying health conditions."
