Another coronavirus case confirmed in Queensland, taking state's tally to five

There are four other people from the tour group still in isolation.

A fifth case of coronavirus has been confirmed in Queensland, coming from the same tour group as the previous cases.

A 37-year-old woman from China is isolated at the Gold Coast University Hospital (GCUH).

She is a member of the same tour group as the four other people in the state who have tested positive to the virus.

A 37-year-old, 44-year-old man, 42-year-old woman and an eight-year-old boy are still in hospital in a stable condition.

Four others from the same tour group remain in isolation in GCUH.

She is the 15th person in Australia to be confirmed to be infected with the virus.

There are four cases each in NSW and Victoria and two cases in South Australia to go with the five in Queensland.

On Tuesday night, the eight-year-old boy in Queensland became the first child in Australia confirmed as having the potentially deadly coronavirus.

As of Thursday, the number of deaths in China from the virus had climbed past 500, and there are 28,000 confirmed infections around the world, according to Johns Hopkins University.
