Reports of a cat apparently shot dead beside a pathway in Kambah have raised alarm among owners in the area.
The body of the black and white cat was located behind the Bicentennial Trail in Kambah, reportedly metres behind residential houses.

The report emerged after Winky, a four-month old kitten, was shot near the Kambah Golf Course last month and was lucky to survive.
An X-ray revealed two pellets embedded near Winky's brain.
The kitten was taken to the RSPCA and underwent emergency medical treatment. It lost an eye, but survived and now has found a new home.
The issue of cats targeted by firearms is not unusual in Canberra, with a three-year-old ginger tabby shot in the leg in Conder earlier this year, and the owner posting a warning on social media.
Last month the ACT government announced that cats acquired after July 1, 2022 would need to be contained in all suburbs. All domestic cats would also need to be registered under changes outlined in the 10-year cat plan.
The RSPCA and ACT's Domestic Animal Services said they were as yet unaware of the latest incident.
